im a ford guy buy heart and all the chevy guys are like yup chev rules 427 and L7s all the way im like what about ford 427 sohc cammer with 619 hp and up used for 1966 made in 1964 and 65 they have no clue what it is because all they look up is chevy stuff all the time and there like oh ya well how about a 572 with 720hp and i laugh at them cause they dont care about nestalga ! they like new crate engines cause there engine was blown long ago !!

A cammer will do more than match a hemi, it will stomp it into the dirt. This isn't some big bloated shitbox 428 engine.

@scatpack Im a chevy guy , but you HAVE TO respect that motor!! I have an LS6 , and would cry if one of those pulled up next to me. I never have experienced one side by side, only seen in action. I think I would lose (sadly but respectfuly)

Wildkkkat1, the cammer was way ahead of its time. All aluminum and overhead cams! Are you kidding me! The hemi was a great engine don't get me wrong. A true car guy loves and respects all brands, not just one. The Ford, Chevy, Dodge rivalry is getting old. That tbird was a true barn find and an authentic 60's drag car. Truely a piece of hot rod history.

If this engine (Cammer) was so great, why did they stop production..? All Top Fuel & Nitrol Funny Car use the Hemi design for one reason.....You can produce much greater cylinder pressure with a Hemi...it is that simple...! The cammer had two design flaws...#1 oil system flow problem....#2 cam chain overload tension.

@victimofcheese In the mid 60's this engine dominated A/FX, which is now Pro-Stock. It was also the first engine to reach 200 MPH in the quarter mile in 1964. It's the baddest of bad, the King of drag racing engines by the Big Three.

culcune, those cammers can sure haul. Whenever I'm lucky enough to see one at a car show, they stop me dead in my tracks. To see so much engine in an engine bay is breathtaking. When they fire up everyone around takes notice. There is nothing like cammer power. Pop's Toy was stroked to 472 cubic inches I believe.
