La Roux -- aka Elly Jackson -- has been one of the UK's brightest successes over the past year. Tracks such as 'Bulletproof' and 'In For The Kill' were amongst the best selling of 2009, with the latter going on to pick-up the coveted title of 'Single Of The Year' from iTunes. 2010 has seen interest and sales continue apace on a global scale; her album of the same name is about to go double platinum and 'Bulletproof' has seen La Roux join the elite few British artistes that have broken into the Top 10 of America's Billboard Hot 100.

So it's with delight and, allowing for the small matter of a world tour, surprise (where did she find the time?) we announce La Roux has curated and mixed the latest volume of Sidetracked, a compilation series that allows artists from the electronic field free-reign to showcase their musical interests.

"Me and Ben (Langmaid) enjoyed putting this mix together. It's a really nice snapshot of both our musical influences. A lot of the tracks on here are songs we listened to while making our album set alongside some new stuff we're into..."

And the fun they had constructing the mix clearly shines through. Kicking off with the legendary Japan the mix goes on to eclectically feature the likes of Heaven 17, Joyce Sims, Fever Ray, Doris Troy, Tears For Fears and Gerry Rafferty. It also includes an exclusive recording of the Rolling Stones' 'Under My Thumb', a cover Elly's been featuring in her recent live sets. "It's the only chance you'll get to hear our cover," she says.

La Roux's Sidetracked is released through Renaissance from July 26th via all good record stores and iTunes UK.
