Sara's POV

At 6:40 I changed into my blue plaid Bermuda shorts and a dark blue AE tee with a white peace sign on it. I slid on my white flip flops and pulled my hair back in a loose french braid. I checked my make up and went to Ali's room. "Hey Ali-" I started then this morning played through my mind. "Sara stay with Ali, Ali behave." Hannah had said. I rolled my eyes. "We're going to a movie." I said. Silently adding if Joe cancel after he hears. "Which one?" Ali asked her eyes not moving from her laptop. "Uh..I don't know yet." I said. "Get ready." I added and went to my room to get my phone. When I came back Ali was sitting back on her bed in dark denim Bermudas and aa mossy green Hollister Cami-Tank in place of her Yellow Aeropostal sweats and huge Hans white tee. Her hair had been brushed and was down, tucked behind her ears held back by a Chocolate Brown Head band. "Let's go." I said. She closed her laptop and got her phone.

We were waiting on the old wooden porch swing when Joe and a guy that looked around Ali's age walked over. "Hey Sara!" Joe said. Ali and I stood up. "This is my younger brother Nick." He said. Nick nodded. "I'm Ali." My sister replied. Again Nick nodded but I could tell he was eying her. We all walked down my Uncle's porch and started walking toward the movie theater.

"That was awesome!" Ali said as we walked out of the theater. She was infront of walking backwards so she could face us. Apparently the whispers and laughs from Nick and Ali weren't about the movie but rather themselves. They;d had a 2 hour conversation during "The Dark Night" crazy people... But Nick was put into kindergarten when we was 6 because of his birthday. So he would also be a freshman at Wyckoff High.

At 9 o clock I was ready to kill myself. I don't speak Spanish and I had 12 friggin Hispanics come through my line. They were talking and I couldn't understand. I would just nod and do my job silently. Finally one of them shot my the bad finger, got his stuff and left. I was almost in tears. But when my manager came over and said that I should work quicker I took my last break. I walked outside to the side parking lot and sat down on the curb. I missed my mom...Sure she drank a little too much but she was really trying to stop. She would always listen and help me... I felt a tear slide down my cheek. I felt soft but strong hand touch my shoulder "I swear if you lay another finger on my I will knock the wind out of you." I said. "Hannah, it's okay it's just me." I looked up and saw Kevin standing there. I stood up and hugged him. The fall air blew and his denim jacket felt warm. "Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded against his chest. He must've understood because he just wrapped me in a hug and let me stand there..
