That tortoise's pen desperately needs a substrate. They only do this when they're unable to find a suitable location to dig. They have those big claws in the front for digging. Putting them in a tank with nothing but a solid glass floor prevents them from fulfilling their basic instinctual needs to burrow. I'd reccomend a 66/33 blend of coconut coir bedding (Easy to find at most pet shops.) and fine play sand (Hardware/Home&Garden stores have this.). Opaque walls will also help on top of this.

Tortoises should not be in glass en-closers. you should at least put a lining to cover the glass so he will stop walking into the wall.

lol...thats is moon walk

You probably wiped the glass with Windex.

@dizzyandbeena No, it wouldn't happen if it was living in their natural habitat and not a rectangle made of glass.

well what do u purpose we do, watch them 100% of the time, my turtles do the same thing when looking at solid wood, it is unavoidable, they are fine, it is like saying you should never let a child fall down, it is going to happen

@dizzyandbeena It is animal abuse because their "beak" is getting damaged by the repeatedly smashing into the glass and they don't know if they're never going to get through it, ever.
that is the worst thing that can done to a turtle, animal abuse!

it isn't animal abuse, my turtle try to crawl through glass all the time. They even do it when they have my entire room to walk around in. The just don't realize that glass, or wood for that matter, exists and they get it into their head they want to go to what ever is on the other side of it. As long as there are no sharp edges it's is harmless to let them try, if anything it is good exercise
