Sorry to say, but the Chevelle SS was barely heavier the Cobalt SS does so it had a better power to weight ratio and not only that, it had a V8 which means more torque compared to it's HP. Stop fooling yourselves, with modern tires it would still crush this car. And seeing this run a nearly 16 second pass? When was the last time you saw a Chevelle - no matter how bad/stock - on the strip run anything slower than 14s?
So much for that argument, stop comparing chicken shit with a legend.

@chris14872 a cavalier on steroids? really? hommie just ran a 16 sec 1/4 mile i would say its just a cavalier. either that or he cant drive for s#$t. i am guessing both are probably true,,,

Your camera makes this race look like it as in the 90's.
-
@chris14872 haha ya but when it comes to power to weight ratio (which is where it counts) the cobalt is faster.
-
@camopaint0707 2.4 came with a sport badge they changed it after
-
Not to be a dweeb..... but you do realize that the Cobalt SS turbo or supercharged is just as fast if not faster than a 350 horse 396 chevelle in factory stock condition. So when you say the Cobalt doesnt deserve the badge .... I'd use a better example . BTW ... I have a 72 Nova SS with a 427 ...and a Cobalt SS turbo.....so i'm not biased in any way. Even with modern tires , A 350 horse Chevelle is going to have its hands full

my friend owns a 1008.5 cobalt turbocharged we took it to toronto motorsports park earlyer this fall and he ran a 14.10 and he broke a shifter pin and he had to coast the rest of the track and still ran 14.10 pretty good for a stock car.

even a cobalt with a 2.4 NA motor came with an SS badge from the factory as well and 2.0 sc models
-
I hope you're joking about you hoping you're Cobalt was that fast...
A 4 banger with SS badges? I don't think so. Super Sport's were cars that had balls. For example a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 with 350 hp stock. Those were cars that wore the badges with honor.

"Both historically and today, the Super Sport package has typically included high-performance tires, heavy-duty suspension, and increased power, along with a variety of other performance and appearance upgrades. All SS models have come with "SS" markings."
My car fits that criteria, has all those upgraded things from the base cobalt. Thank you.

Chevrolet Cobalt SS, not worthy of wearing the SS badge. Just a Cavalier on steroids. LOL

Look up the definition of SS and you will see it fits that desciption perfectly.

My 2.4 will dust you in your supercharged ss. This was a test run right before the turbo dropped in and the car came from the dealer with the 2.0 spoiler.
