That's true, and it's OK as an introduction, but it doesn't go into much detail. Generics, nested classes, reflection, threads, exception handling etc are either not covered or covered in too little detail - these are not optional, modern commercial code makes extensive use of these. Also it uses the ACM libraries which are designed for teaching, not for commercial use. Overall it's OK but it leaves out a lot of skills you need in the real world.
