WC7638, the Wisconsin Central's famous Operation Lifesaver SD45, heads a local manifest thru Saint Canard on a goodwill tour.

Loco is a HEAVILY modified / kitbashed / scratchbuilt model comprised of over 280 parts (NOT including the drivetrain) from a dozen vendors. Ditch lights are a pain!

  • i too am curious about the crossing signals....

  • See comments below... thanks!

  • wow amasing. what type of signals are those???

  • I think they were made by Busch, got them at a train show for $10. They're manually activated for now but I believe they could be automated with proper circuitry.

  • That is one INCREDIBLY beautiful loco!!! Like the previous commenter, I would also be interested in what you did to create the ditch lights.

I also appreciated the "low and slow" view you gave us of your interesting rolling stock. Very nice!

  • Thank you for the compliments! I like them "low & slow", that's how they were where I grew up (without the goofy Tyco cars of course but after all that rivetcounting I needed to lighten up a bit, LOL). Hard to find matching "low & slow" sound clips though!

I described the ditch lights to the previous commenter. Thanks again...!

  • Very nice ! much more realistic than the Tyco stuff. Looks almost real at points.

  • That was very real... Great video and great detail...

  • This has to be the most realistic model video i have seen.

  • WOW! That thing is beautiful!

    The sound was great too.

I also like the belt railway of chicago geep in the siding...

  • Absolutely amazing detail!! Want to do some of the same stuff on my loco's? Just kidding! Great stuff though! You should enter it into those NMRA competitions if you haven't already!

  • Incredible looking engine!
