What kind of a moron could have thought that these lads with beards and banjos would pirouette around a stage?? "sensation in the Irish and England dancing world"!!! They would have been a sensation, for sure
-
Dance Instruction school used "Ronnie Drew and the Dubliners" to draw a crowd to sign people up for dancing lessons. English dancing, Irish dancing and a ballet group. :-)

"oh father dear i often hear you speak of erin's isle
her lofty scenes, her valleys green, her mountains rude and wild
they say it is a lovely land
wherein a prince might dwell
then why did you abandon it
the reason to me tell"
...correct? *.* i love it...and i love ireland !!

This melody will always give me chills
Brilliant song , but i wonder what the "Ballet Group" tagging was all about back then ?
Strange

the "Ballet group" thing was just a mistake, of course they were called the "Ronnie Drew Ballad Group" on all the other occasions.
