Are you ready for a Nerdy Valentines Day? http://bit.ly/WekHqK
This video contains the word "BADASS."

I just wanted to add a bit to all of the discussions surrounding Neil Armstrong. We shouldn't forget that he was perfect for this mission not only because he was humble and would make a great symbol for our country and the world, but that he was also an amazing, highly skilled, tried by fire, pilot with NERVES OF FREAKING STEEL!

My grandfather died while serving as a test pilot at NACA, Moffett Field in 1949. He was a contemporary of Neil & Chuck & Many O'OthersUnnamed, and flew countless test missions in some of the same projects and many more that seem mundane in comparison, but were important for 1) commercial air travel at relatively low cost, 2) military air superiority in the years since, 3) manned space flight, 4) coolness.

So thanks, Hank! Neil Armstrong deserves every word of your praise and then some.

Neil Armstrong is so badass that perhaps instead of telling Chuck Norris jokes, we should tell Neil Armstrong jokes.

and another reason he was picked to be the first on the moon... was that NASA thought he looked like the guy to go down in history as first on the moon. they have this incredibly awesome guy, and they pick him because he's handsome.

    dear hank,

the word "psyche" does not refer to any psychological thing. it is the root word of butter fly in greek.

It would go through some of the stages of rot, but not all, because some require external things ex/ bugs, fungi

I googled it and found this, "A dead body would decay for a while since there are bacteria within the body that already have everything they need to continue living for a while. If the body were left naked on the moon's surface, it would alternately freeze and cook depending on the position of the moon relative to the sun, with temperatures ranging between -184 C and 101C. In the very dry lunar atmosphere, it would soon dry out. Decay would effectively stop once the body was dried."

nearly died a bunch of times, casually returned to work, was cool under pressure, and landed on the moon. Neil Armstrong was living an action movie.

we are full of bacteria(both good and bad). once our body dies, so does our immune system. if our immune system goes out, the amount of flesh hungry bacteria that would be released into our system would have us into tiny person bits within a few years(months for some)

Would the bacteria already in him slowly eat him from the inside out?

@Julie Dyer It depends on whether it was exposed to space or not. If it was, it would probably dry out and just sit there for a really long time.
