John Deere 140 In Snow(and some of its troubles)

this is the john deere in her snow removal outfit. Its been a few weeks since that happened and I still can't get it to run. I think the spark plug is not getting enough power but that would meen taking out the whole engine. If you have any suggestions of how to fix this please comment (and by the way those batteries work really nice). Thanks

Im pretty its sure running to rich but I also think the main problem after working on it a bit is it is not getting enough electricity to get a spark.

ive got a 1973 140h3 ....engine needs rebuild. I am not sold on those 14 hp kohlers and so may put a vanguard 18 repower unit in the tractor.60 lbs lighter and more power[close to 20hp]good luck wuth yours

Convert it to CDI

that would be a plowing beast with ag tires on it and all that weight.

try to replace the points and condenser. these old kohlers are great but the ignition systems are older technology and require more maintenance then solid state.

is it running rich or burning oil? id check that first, also, i might ttry taking the head off and cleaning it, might be alot of carbon buildup..

my 19.5hp plugs keep going bad, so i have to clean them like once a week it gets really annoying
