You're right, it isn't a comedian's job. Most comedians talk about shit that distract the public from the real issues and from the fact that we're oblivious to media manipulation. I'm "out here" Lee, no longer live in the USA. And I'm shocked to hear what is news on FOX, shocked to hear the opinions of my OWN relatives in regard to what is happening, and feel largely marginalized and not in a position to express my opinions lest I end up in straitjacket.
