Prejudice is like a cancer of the spirit. The truth is: "The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens."
A wiki or google search "Broceros Project" might lend insight into the current debate regarding immigration.
"O My Servant!
Ye are the trees of my garden; ye must give forth goodly and wonderous fruits, that ye yourselves and others may profit therefrom."

Wow, in light of the new ruling in Arizona, this is still so pertinent. Love Woody Guthrie and his son, Emmy Lou Harris too. A terrific tribute and an important message. Beautiful video. Made me cry.

Imagine Arlo Guthrie is a Republican nowadays. Unbelieveable.

GREAT MOVIE!!! An absolute must-see for any Woody Guthrie or Leadybelly fan. I take that back. Everyone should be forced to watch this movie, it's incredible.

The next duet that Emmylou sings that isn't good will also be the first. She's in a class by herself.

@UISTMAN59 Yes that is the name. Arlo is the son of Woody Guthrie that wrote this song. Arlo is also a very socially conscious man that would have made his dad proud. You would be proud to own this recording and ANY that Arlo is a part of I would hope considering.

Great story, and interpretation. Also, Dolly Parton's version is angelic.

this song always makes me cry, such a beautiful message from the great American poet and songwriter sung by a woman with the voice of an angel

franchement, emmylou est 1000 étages au-dessus de dolly!
I've just bought a tribute CD to Woody and Leadbelly. I wonder why this wasn't on it? Very powerful social comment!

There have been a few tributes. This one is on one though I can't remember which. It might be called A Vision Shared. :-)

I've bought Folkways: A vision shared with tributes from Dylan, Springstein, Emmylou, U2 etc. I taped a BBC program years ago on Guthrie which did include deportees. However, the U2 version of "Jesus Christ" is superb! You have an excellent channel Uistman.

Richard Shindell did a fine version of this song. This one is great, though.

Hi stars1861. I hadn't heard of Richard Shindell before (as far as I can remember) so thanks for the comment - I'll need to look out for his songs now. :-)
