Buck Sirus knives: Cooly Collectible

This ain't the best EDC knife. It's a bit on the heavy side at 3.9 oz, has slick scale, a intrusive cam lock on the spine, and has only moderate deployment speed. For these reasons I classify this knife more of an EDC option not a tactical knife. Buck could improve this series by lightening the scales, putting in a stronger assist spring, reducing the prices (at $55 it's pricey I think for 420HC steel... a good but not great steel I think) and minimizing the cam lock. However it's in the looks department where the Buck Sirus shines. It comes in some striking and original colorations that can add a lot of coolness to your collection. So while its lackluster features might fail to impress, its looks won't.

Another cool thing about this knife is that the thumbstuds actually prevent the blade from over-extending on opening. With a few other (cheaper) assisted knives, the blade slightly over-extends and can cause the lock portion of the liner to deform over time (especially if the knife is used often), as well as causing the pivot screw to loosen faster.

Thanks for this review, i went to the store today hoping to buy a sypderco tenacious but the store i went to doesn't sell spyderco knives so i went with this one without any knowledge of the knife or previous research, I was worried about it the entire way home untill i saw this video

I was wrong. The more that I see this knife, the more I like it. It is just a bit bright colored.  For collection, it would be cool.
