Escort Redline Owned by Instant On Ka Band 33.8 Radar

Escort Redline got owned on the toll road by the ISP running 33.8 Ka band radar. Luckily I had just encountered one running Constant On 33.5 Ka band just a few miles back and wasn't back up to cruising speed yet.

Thanks for replying! I am planning on keeping the ix and later down the road buying the next generation redline they come out with. They are bound to have one for sure.

@durand001 V1's patent on arrows runs out this year on Feb. 25th, if V1 does not improve on their patent the arrows can be used by anyone after that date. I am hoping to see a Escort come out with arrows this year !!! But at this point it's just all speculation.

Do you think the redline falses too much in the city? I just got an ix and I am debating about returning it for a redline. Photo cameras aren't really a problem and I don't run red lights.

@durand001 The Auto mode does a decent job cutting down falses off to the side of the interstate's that run through the city. But in a large city like Chicago the V1 and Redline just alert all the time. You almost need two RD's anymore, the 9500ix for the city and Redline or V1 for the highway.

I think it was just because hit the button right as he came around the bend. He also could have been hitting cars in front of him in his same lane, or me.

@ZNickey It's the newest version out there. It did fairly well on QT but not as good as the V1. I personally could care less about QT anyways cause it is like never used here. I live in BC, Canada so there is lots of rough terrain and I was just amazed how the redline picked up the source.

@mikey77771 I sometimes (incorrectly) call QT IO given QT is IO but IO is not QT (my mistake). For off axis and traditional IO (as in hold to on) it is amazing. For traditional IO it is great because of two front horns versus only one on the V1 so in remote areas it is ideal for that. I am yet to see a Redline do QT although later units seem to be 'hotter'. What year/FW was the Redline you tested? It did well on QT? Perhaps they changed it as the similar STiD did horrible in GOL's 2009 IO test.

While POP is rare, QT is common (ex: HOLD mode on most Stalkers, the best selling maker). The Redline MUST have more than one 'pass' on any signal prior to alerting regardless of settings. The $200 Bel RX-65 S7 has segmentation which does QT, but the Redline does not. Give it band RDR and eliminate the multi pass and you will have an amazing unit. Until then, the $500 detector doesn't detect radar. Show me a video of the Redline doing QT; otherwise, stop trying to be the badass of the internet.

@mikey77771 You test individually first. If the difference is the same, then you can use it as a video to sum. Not everyone wants to see a 20 minute vid of run after run. Obviously, you don't know how to drive if you think QT means it is too late. It's called a rabbit big guy ;-). And as far as off axis, I agree the Redline excels. However, it is slow. Look at all of the videos that hit it with QT (HOLD MODE) and it doesn't make a peep. It's nicknamed 'Sleeping Beauty' for a reason big boy.

@ZNickey Yeah you test it with the V1! which anyone with a brain knows it not a fair test because they interfere with eachother. The redline will beat any detector rough terrain, I have tons of testing with other detectors and yeah It has little bit of a weakness with QT and POP but what the big deal? Even if I does alert it's to late you already got a ticket? And to make a statement saying "The redline is one of the slowest radar detectors on the market" You Sir are one fucking moron

@mikey77771 Actually I test these. Do some research before acting like Mr. Cool Dude. The Redline does NOT do QT or POP2. Simple as that.
