number of imams have been guilty of keeping abuse a secret from the authorities.
The report revealed that a dossier, containing the names of imams who refused to help abused women, has been drawn up by the Centre for Islamic Pluralism, which intends handing its report over to the Government in December.
The CIP's "naming and shaming" is part of a campaign to expose imams whose silence on domestic abuse is leading to women being burnt, lashed and raped in the name of Islam. still free?

The report by think tank Quillam says that the London-based Islam Channel broadcast comments saying that the idea a woman cannot refuse her husband relations was not strange and was instead part of maintaining a strong marriage.
It says that the channel also broadcast advice that a wife should not leave her home without her husband's permission and that a woman who wears perfume in public is a prostitute.
DO YOU REALLY THINK, THIS IS FREEDOM?

Women must fight patriarchal religions and governments. Men want to control women's bodies by covering them up or undressing them. Control their minds and bodies, pretend to put them on a pedestal and treat them like inferrior beings. Brainwash them. Women have the power to put an end to it. Take off the burqas, the hijabs, the thongs and the push-up bras, put on some comfortable clothing, and tell controlling men and religious leaders to go f*ck themselves.

masha allah
it always suprises me how good people think to know how it is... just from watching the media.
my man is from Afghanistan, I'm a Western convert. He doesn't even really want me to wear a headscarf, i choose to do it myself anyway and he accepts my choise. no stoning to death involved here... and i know a lot of girls who aren't forced but do because they believe it is the right thing to do

it's wrong to think a piece of clothing can only ever mean one thing. Women can be free or oppressed regardless of what they wear, all depends on the context and why they wear what they do. You should never feel you have the right to tell anyone what to wear. If someone wants to wear a burka or a bikini it is up to them.
