Alouette-Ciel's ARCANUM ECHO ～空色のエレクシア～ Trial 2 - Stage 1

(KNIGHT MODE)

This is the second trial after the original, earlier version released last year. There have been so many improvements that I cannot list them all, namely, the sprites are now animated, including the main character so congrats to the devs as this was one of my main gripes. Now your loli-ship even blinks!

So, besides that, the game comes with a tutorial, contains three stages and the music is, sadly, painfully Touhouesque, especially the Stage 2 boss, which is literally and simply way too Touhou to be coincidence, Yuyuko butterflies and an EoSD-like feeling.

The beat system, which is a combination of melée attacks and the chaining from DoDonPachi, is quite intricate (I mean, you don't have a bar telling you how much time you have left for the next chain, you have to know which enemies keep your beat up and which don't, when to use the sword and when to fire away the ARS MAGNA/bomb, etc.) and you know you pretty much have to keep the beat working till the end of the stage... Which I didn't. Ouch.

Another addition is the voice acting. It's not bad but this is why I don't want watatatata aloud on my shooters... You'll see why once you keep playing. Let's just say it starts nice but it gets downright annoying, especially with the amount of sword attacks you have to perform.

Overall, much, much better than the old trial so this time I'm looking forward for the game. Although be warned and look at the overall art and style because if you were looking for manly mecha, steroids, missile barrages and gigantic Jupiter-sized battleships look somewhere else. Or play Cho-Aniki. :P

The link is on the video info. It's not out yet so you have a 3-stages trial. The game will be officially out during Comiket 76 (15-16 august).

Oh, click on the big image with the three main characters. That'll take you to the game' site. Over there you'll see a "Download" tab on the left. Where it says "Trial Version", pick the latest by date and hit the huge orange "Download" button. Hopefully, they guys were awesome enough to put a lot of stuff in english/engrish so it's quite easy to navigate/guess thingies.

this game could be good but melee all time a bit repetetive was good ranged attack I hoped :(

i just realized that...i got the game...but it won't start...it just crashe's when i try to click on arcade or tutorial mode DX
