This was our Honeymoon in 2000 at the Annual Klingon Feast of Qot'Boval in Las Vegas.

I talked with the event coordinator a couple months prior to the event letting him know that we were interested in having a Klingon Wedding Ceremony during the festivities. He said that would be great and that we could colaborate with local Klingons and have it done. A couple weeks later he calls me and says he's been talking with our honoured guests and they asked if they could participate. We said absolutely. So, the klingon (without klingon clothing) reading the scroll I prepared, with dialogue based on the Worf And Dax wedding, was read by Robert O'Reiley, Gowron of TNG and DS9. And one of my Klingon Best men was JG Hertzler, General Martok of DS9. They were very interested in participating and spoke with us extensively just before the our ceremony. They had very much fun and we played it out with them as much as we possible could.

I must also pointe out our other Best Klingons; to the right is Jilqun, he lives in S. California and writes Klingon music and opera (yes in Klingon). The lovely Klingon woman to the left is P'illo, a beautiful Klingon bodybuilder and dancer. And the Klingon to hand us the bat'leths during the ceremony was the Klingon running the whole event.

My appologies for the dark quality of this video, we shot things out in the middle of a dry lake bed 15 minutes south af Las Vegas and with power limited to generateors and generic spot lamps. We did what we were able.

Yes, my wife is 8 months pregnant with our first child and jokes of "Bat'leth Weddings" ran rampant through the whole event. She made that dress and finished mere minutes before we were supposed to leave for the feaste sight.

But all went well and we will never forget those who helped us put these things together.

    Thank you very much.

We still (10 years later) show this video to new friends. Our old friends just roll their eyes when the subject comes up.

  • Sounds like fun!!! Wish I could've been there!! Too bad my boyfriend wouldn't go along with this for us...traditional weddings are so boring....Congratulations!!!!
