Part 1 of 4 Adobe Illustrator Cs4 Creating a character the bare bone Sketching

Yo what is up everyone, this is your guy Davin, and I'm doing a four part video of how I draw, I deal with the Pen tool and Pencil tool in these video tutorials, lol sorry that there are four part, it's not my fault that youtube only allows you to only post ten minute videos. However,I'm not trippin', so yeah this first video will show how I make the bare bone sketch in which I use to do my inking in vector with the pen tool. Then from there I would use the pencil tool to color and shade my characters.

Lmao ok I know what you're saying, this sketch looks like crap! and you're right 8D. But however the sketch is usually a simple guide in which I use to help me get to point B of the drawing. I know it's not the most spectacular sketch work you have ever seen I mean I was also racing agents the clock too however I'm not making any excuses, but that is just the way I do things you guys. So sorry if you don't like it xP, you can just skip to part two where I ink him if you want.

I repeat there are four parts to this video, this one is the bare bone sketching , then there is the inking job, after that is the coloring, last but not least the simple shading job. Please watch all four parts before you cast your judgment.

@buzzdown69 Get a Wacom bamboo fun. Those are great. I still use mine, had it for like 4 years straight.

@Sx3apan Those are called selection lines. You'll have to double click on the pencil icon and uncheck auto select in the box, and there you have it.

@iMerXz Yes I do use a tablet, and you can get very affordable ones out on the market, just make sure it's a Wacom.

So I am trying to use the pencil tool and I am having trouble. In your video it seems like your pencil tool works like a brush. As in, it immediately sketches the line as you sketch. My pencil tool continues to wait until I lift my pen before it draws the line. Is that how it is working in this video and I just cant tell?

I followed your tutorial that you posted above about drawing freely on illustrator, but I still can not "naturally" draw, Opacity is not effecting the pencil for some reason, and there is no pressure sensitivity, I can't find a website that explains this.. Help, please?
