Our Favorite Time of Year is Winter
Dave Heath's stepfather gave him a camera and it changed his life forever. Nine Winters Old takes us on a journey through one snow-draped winter as seen uniquely through the eyes, and lens, of one of the world's top ski photographers. Who better -- and able - to follow him around all winter and film his adventures than an acclaimed veteran Warren Miller cinematographer -- who just happens to be his older brother Bill. Nine Winters Old is the story of a ski photographer, of the classic characters he meets along the way, and how they all truly come alive in wintertime.
asked for the movie for christmas, and i loved it. Ive shown it to some of my friends and they think its too slow. . . . they just dont understand. I love how it conveys the feeling of winter so perfectly. i fell in love with warrens ski films but theyve changed to appeal to the masses with fancy camera and a bunch of snazzy park stuff( basically gymnastics with sticks on). this movie reminds people to slow down take a breath enjoy the winter, great job and i love it, thank you!

Saw this at Telluride Mountain Film Festival (where it deservedly won an award) - it was full of wonderfully rich imagery of winter - makes you crave the taste of snowflakes on your tongue.

Somebody has to seize the sticks from Warren sooner or later, and I'd prefer the soulful approach to the boombastic trend among snowboarding videos.

I saw this film at a premier party last Spring. If you are into the soul and experience of skiing I recommend checking it out. The visuals are amazing and it focuses on real skiers and stories which was very cool. It'll get you jonzin' for this season.
