Please help identify the film (or films) where these old rocket clips came from. They are numbered so you can refer to them that way in your comments.

I now know that part of it is from Captain Video and His Video Rangers. The special effects team for those clips was made by Leo Russell, Alex Haberstroh and Harry Persanis of Haberstroh Studios.

  • Picture 2 might be from Tales of Tomorrow. Not sure and don't mean to send you a wild goose chase.

  • Possibly captain video

  • can say Its not from Tobar the great

  • Where did these shots from Captain Video come from? I have been trying to find pictures of Tobor and the Galaxy for years and I have never see these before. I saw the actual shows on tv in 1953 and 54. Number three is made from some Renwal toy spaceships. The Galaxy is of course two F-90 jets glued together.

  • I looked at it again. I don't think ANY of these clips are from Soviet films. I recognized all but one as from familiar Western sources.

  • Only less than half these clips are from Russian sf films. There are paintings from US science fiction magazines and even stills from the 1949 - 55 US TV series CAPTAIN VIDEO.

  • Some of these are from the 50's US TV series CAPTAIN VIDEO, featuring his Galaxy 2 rocket, and his robot adversary Tobor. (FX by NYC's Russell and Haberstroh Studio)

One shot features the rocket from Columbia's late 40's serial Jack Armstrong, and also used in 50's Atom Man Vs. Superman serial.
