127 Hours Trailer

127 Hours is a 2010 drama thriller film directed by Danny Boyle. The film stars James Franco as real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston who became trapped by a boulder in Robbers Roost, Utah for nearly five days in 2003. The film, based on Ralston's autobiography Between a Rock and a Hard Place, was written by Boyle and Simon Beaufoy and produced by Christian Colson, who previously teamed up for Slumdog Millionaire.

Also, they need to pay all the programmers, software engineers to keep the whole operation on its feet! So yes the ads are annoying but unfortunately if we want free video services that is the price we have to pay. And with fuel prices increasing (and remember this is an energy intensive industry) these costs ar going to keep on rising!

@Fernoe the largest costs to YouTube - I would guess are the costs of running the servers! I myself am a computer scientist and have built servers/networks - running these ones at google would eat up quite easily the energy of one US State! Now these servers are stashed all over the States and globally - so somebody has to pay for the electricity to keep these damn things running (environmental Carbon taxes are applicable here too) . They generate millions of kilowat hours and heat.

@iNick909 so you think a successful business will be happy to run up debts close to half a billion dollars? google would be better off just shutting down youtube than running it with no ads. in fact, i haven't checked the figures, but i'd be willing to bet youtube's annual running cost is something like more than a quarter of google's annual profit.

it was a brilliant sad story but great filmmakes it more sad knowing its a true story :/
