Dont blame the oil companies, blame the market. In the 90's there wasnt a market for electric vehicles that cost so much to manufacter or buy for that matter. Why would lil miss Suzie soccer mom trade in her Suburban or Grand Caravan for an overpriced underperforming, limited range electric vehicle when gas was cheap and plentiful?
So this is the second time the Government is bailing GM out! What about other companies that went under. They never bailed them out!Who's money r they using for this? Ours!! I'm sorry I think the ppl that works or worked at GM were too spoiled. Now all these ppl that r off & if they do find jobs r goin to start off with $9 hr. Welcome to the real world!!!!
In 1990,GM had a car went up 100 miles on a single charge.now,GM comes up with concept that can only go 40 miles on a single charge.we all know technology usually improve, not disimprove.Oil companies currently hold 20% share in GM.How is it possible for them to make efficient electric cars. Many people have no idea how extremely hard oil companies and oil producing countries behind the scene to avert the reappearance of electric cars. The technology is there, but polical support is needed.
There is missing one keyelement...any mention of top executives taking massive pay cuts...another classic case of dancing on the backs of the bruised.
