TTTT or Together To The Top

Yes, YouTube Partners do have to pay taxes. In Michigan, RJared said that he had to pay the tax amount of 11% of the income that he has made that year to the IRS. Every state is different on the way that you are taxed and also, the amount that you owe in taxes. Plan ahead and do your research about it because when tax season comes around, you don't want to be in trouble with the IRS and trying to figure out where you're going to get all the money that you need to pay taxes for the year.

It's just like any other job and instead of YouTube taking your taxes out of your check for you, you have to manage it yourself. Say for instance you were working at a store like Walmart, you can have your taxes withheld form your check and then even recieve some pay back but you have to make sure you put away the amount you need to for paying your taxes when it comes to YouTube.

A good thing about it, is that since you are recongnized as being self-employed, there are things that you can write off on your taxes that have contributed to your job such as purchases like you camera, green screen equipment, computers, internet bills, and so on.

  • Question. When exactly do you have to start filing for taxes? What if someone is not a full partner, but has his/her videos monetized? How much money does that person have to make off adsense in order to start filing for taxes? Hope that makes sense.

  • @nelsono415 i think its 600 dollars

  • I need help with my w9. I just started monetizing my videos and i've reached the $10.00 limit thing in where then google asks to submit your tax information and i don't know what 'Exempt from backup withholding' means ... please help. :/

  • When do they send you a form? This is my first year doing this and I don't know how it works. Thanks for the video btw.

  • So basiclly if you make 1000 dollars this month, you'll have to pay them about 100 dollars, am I right? Do I have to play something BEFORE I become a youtube partner? Some kind of "Do i have to pay something BEFORE I get my first payment?"
