@toddmg or they just play worse teams the second half of the season like you said so it seems like they get much better when in actuallity they are just playing worse compotition. just sayin...
@cainepittman2 Yeah the did loose St. X....they can have that lousy victory with Don Bosco a year later winning the national title in every poll and and a year after that ranking as high as number 3 in the country...St. X can take that win and shove it up their ass...lmao
@cainepittman2 it was bosco's 1 game against st. x's 4th. St. X lost there starting qb half way thru the season at the time they were 3-1. Idc how bad they finished they play in arguably one of the toughest conferences in H.S. football, teams in that league beat each other 3-0. To toddmg every team gets better as the season goes on
(continued) Again, a DBP win against DLS at the beginning of the season is just as legitimate as if it had occurred at the end of the season… I’m just virtually certain that if the games had occurred at the end of the season then the games would have been much different (perhaps a 20 point swing in De La Salle’s favor, meaning DLS still would have lost their second game to DBP). I am intending to be brutally honest and objective... don't think my comments are an overstatement at all.
(continued) If those games had occurred at the end of each season then DLS I think definitely wins the first of the two games with DBP, the second I don't know because DBP had way more talent than DLS (obviously combined with DBP's excellent coaching)…..
(continued) I have not criticized anyone, DBP you guys freakin rock... just wanted to get something straight....... As for the rankings, they are a ranking of how good teams are at the END of the season, so even though DLS has two legitimate losses to DBP, are they worse then DBP? Well DLS was worse at the beginning of those seasons.
(continued) However, people are left with a misleading view of the team. No excuses, they just simply are really good at the end of the season and beatable by good teams at the beginning. If they had equal talent to their non-league opponents than this wouldn't be an issue at all, but they don't. On average, even their lineman aren’t that naturally talented, but they make themselves into something pretty good and by the END of the season they are a machine.
(continued) But to all high school fans out there, understand that DLS sucks at the beginning of the season (exaggeration)... they rely so much on coaching, technique, execution, playing hard etc but not on talent because they probably have worse players overall than all other top 20 teams. It sucks for DLS big time (and don't think they don't know it) that they have to play all their non league games at the very beginning of the season, but that's just the way it is.
