Clive rumblestrutting at Horatio and Colin

Rumblestrutting is a guinea pig dominance manoeuvre, entailing foot-stamping and rumbling. Clive does it every day, to the complete indifference of the other guinea pigs. Horatio, the friendliest one, is visiting Clive's cage to say hi.

Do you have males? Ours are all boys, and they seem to spend most of their time doing the dominance activities you mention, and trying to mount each other, and getting all indignant at each other. It's like a rodent soap opera. We have to separate them regularly. The books never warned us about this!

I have new guinea pigs and they don't get along. Sometimes they'll chase each other and make happy noises, and the friendlier one will popcorn, and on a rare occasion they'll eat together. My friendlier pig will rumble strut, the other one will just dart around and scratch at him and act stupid. :/  Rumble strutting is much cuter. This is a cute video, I've seen a few struts a little more pronounced from mine, but not often. I love these creatures, just wish they liked each other more. :(
