Lake Nakuru is a shallow soda lake that attracks 2 million flamingos and a quarter of million pelicans as well as thousands of other migratory birds like cormorants, storks, and herons. There are so many birds that lake seems to disappear and you could walk on the backs of the birds across the lake without getting wet. This is not lost on the hyena who try, mostly in vain, to attack the millions of birds hoping to find an injured bird who can't fly with the rest. This short video is of one of these hyenas attacking the flock and hundreds of thousands of birds taking flight. It was quite dramatic!
