The Titanic tragedy bought sweeping changes to the social climes of the day. It is unfortunate that it took such a horror to bring it about. I live near Halifax and if you have an opportunity to come here and visit the graveyard I promise you it will be unforgettable. The experience takes history, images, stories and brings it to life as you stand mere feet away from those laid to rest.

The little fair hair boy was a finnish. Bornt at ostro bothnia, Finland. Not an english. As someone told in here before. His story is rather similar than the story of swedish family's. His father too moved to America earlier, earned some money and sent it his family back in Finland to come. The wife had 4 children and a serving girl with. Only the serving girl was saved.
Anyhow, the blond hair. "Our baby" is finnish. And by now there should be his real name on the headstone.

@pilotette There was very many reason why things didn't work out.. no evacuation plan, not enough lifeboats, not filling lifeboat capacity, no lifeboat drills, a way to more or less save the 2d and 1st class passengers and do away with the lesser of the classes...breaks my heart!

wow...figures that graves were full of WATER.

@pilotette Makes me angry as well. However, it is how the world works. If it worked on the way, wich looks what would be best for this world, we would have been even more technological advanced. But its mostly about money, not about the future. Just thinking about it, makes me angry. Will it ever change?

Money talks. Even now a days. At any kind of disaster, the people with money will have more chance of survival. The Titanic, should however had enough "Emergency Boats" for ALL passengers, and the crew.

it pass almoust one century of this tragedy and still is sad even now:(
One reason that most of the 1st class bodies were recovered and identified was for insurance and inheritance purposes...at least that was what I was told.

Yes; the Unknown Child was thought for many years to be Gosta Paulsson, a two year old third-class child, but as of 2007, DNA results indicate the boy is Sidney Leslie Goodwin. He was 19 months old, and a third-class passenger, along with his five siblings and parents. His is the only body in the entire Goodwin family that has been recovered and identified.
