The guitar is a Rob Williams custom model. It's shaped like a Telecaster but the goal was to make it sound like a les paul. It's an awesome guitar , in fact they are the best guitars I have ever played and by a long way. I only own Rob Williams guitars now.

Rob's guitars are awesome, the best i have ever played and I've played them all.
Ampwise i go between a Mesa 5:25, Fender Vibro Champ, a Blackstar HT (pedal only) and sometimes amplitude software.

I watched Paul Gilbert for hours at GIT in '88. He was a great teacher, and a total ham. I walked the halls of that place, and I wish I could explain it in words. Phenomenal things happening right before my eyes, and every single day that I was there. That experience was life changing, for many of my bad habits where exposed, and I started from scratch. I'd been placed in the advanced group by Howard Roberts, and it was terrifying, yet quite exhilarating, as well. apb
