He is Wrong about this. I am related to Tommy Duncan, and I am not a liar. My Grand mother Told me, My Mother Told me, all my Aunts and Uncles told me, and it was ingrained in our family and well known. also Im sure a Gene Test would, Im sure, tell the truth on this matter. and.... a friend of mine told me that I look so much like him and have singing talent, even that tells the truth. any way. Im not worried about this stuff. at least Im not pre-ocupied about Tommy Duncan. He was a good man.

@IrvFerguson Don't be fooled this guy is not related to Tommy. My Grandpa is Glynn, Tommy's brother, and he has confirmed this man is a iar

When I was about 5 or so, living in Tulsa, we went to Cains Ball Room to pick up my Aunt, a dance instructor. We were able to sit in on one of Bob Will's jam sessions and in a rest period, Tommy Duncan spotted my sister and I watching and called us up. He held us on his knees and talked to us a while, the conversation long forgotten, but he gave each of us a silver dollar. I still have mine. My nephew's wife is related to Tommy's widow and related the story to her. It was typical of Tommy.

Ejdiii, Swing is easy to play if you feel it. If you are wedded to the beat, or can only play what's on paper, yes, it's difficult. But if you and the beat can have an open relationship (without straying too far), swing is a piece of cake. If you feel it

Yes, Tommy Duncan, Moon Mullican, Milton Brown and Floyd Tillman (who wrote this song) are the best Western Swing vocalists of the 1930s-1940s era.

Is it just me or is Tommy one of the best singers of any kinda music, EVER?

That's Joe Maphis (I hope I spelled that right) on the two-necked guitar. He and Larry Collins got the first two ever made.

Tommy Duncan is my favourite all time male singer. I only thought I could sing before I started playing western swing, now thanks to endless hours of listening to Tommy I really can sing. It is extraordinary music, slick & sophisticated, unlike most peoples impression of country music today.
I's put Tommy up against Frank Sinatra any day & any of the guitarists would put the smug Jazz guitarists on notice.
