@acountrymomma That is a painting my friend, Jeremy Lipking did of his daughter. I took a quick photo of it when we were visiting his studio in Los Angeles. It is truly a masterpiece and really should be in a museum.

I suspect that the reason why the Communist, Picasso's work is so well revered is that he so aptly embodies the Judeo-Marxist cause. Let's face it, we've all been imbued with the story behind his famous painting, Guernica. But, curiously, most of us have never been exposed to the other side of the story: The mass-murder of Christians at the hands of the Communists.

I disagree with which art is being called worthless, but I'm glad someone is questioning something most people don't think about. I have a similar belief in a different direction. I find most traditional, realistic art, including things that are highly celebrated, to be completely boring, meaningless, and unimaginative, and I think most people are afraid to be honest about their own taste, because they are told what is valuable by others. We should like what we like, even if it isn't "cool."

By the way, I stand with a foot in each camp.I do like abstract, performance, and modern art and I do like realism. Both have pluses and minus points. Traditional realism when well done is very moving and inspiring.Those not so well done are saccharine. Good modern art is often evocative, thought provoking. But shocking is in. Shocking sells even when bad

I was invited by a well known Chicago area critic to pursue a degree in art criticism.I declined as I feared it would cripple my own art-making(having discovered many critics are art wannabes) and having been totally discouraged by famed museum going for shock value,showing crude art of a mass murderer, and the "performance" art of a man who masturbated in a loft above the viewers.Disgusting sellout of artworld to shock value ugly art.

There's just one thing to point out.

I believe that Exit Through the Gift Shop was intentionally directed so as to question what art is and what makes good art, as well as the modern art scene. Assuming that Mr Brainwash was manufactured by Banksy- Essentially he's a statement about the modern art world, which is pretty brilliant.
