This was my first night track event at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Porsche Club of America (PCA) hosted the event on 08/08/2009. I ran in the Solo/Instructor group.
This was the fastest group I've ran with to date. Yes, I gave a lot of point-by's but I won't show you many of those. Visual references at night came very fast, if at all. Turn 3 and Turn 6 were a problem for me since it was so dark in those parts of the track. It was an amazing expereince and I hope to do it again soon.
Many members from TrackWeekend.com were there. Ed in his yellow Mini (very fast), and Bruno in his blue M3 make an appearance in the video. I'd also like to thank the guy in the silver Porsche with the black top for making me earn that point -by. We were very evenly matched and I had to chase him for 4 laps before I got the point-by.
I was also testing and tuning the new suspension and Hawk brake pads during this event. Bilstein coilovers, Turner camber plates, and Hawk racing pads were installed prior to the event. I had to learn the car all over again. By the end of the night I had shaved 3 seconds from my previous best lap.
