Very nice to listen to, which organ am I looking at 1:36?

At 1:36, it is the organ of the St-Bertrand-de-Comminges Cathedral (in the Haute Garonne area in France).

Many thanks. The sound is indeed quite marvelous on this LP that contains the four great toccatas of J.S. Bach. And E. Power Biggs was an outstanding organist.

Me, too. Exactly. So many of the "young" organists play Bach too darned fast. Biggs knew how to save his ammunition for the big moments by not turning the music into a horse race. Biggs' Bach has the power.

Is there a video of the Fugue available? I have the original quad LP and a CD version of this as well, but I can't legally share those with others. :-)

I grew up with this album except we had it on reel to reel. I played it to death!!!! I still love this album. But you are correct. It is hard to find.

This Album was released in SACD surround, but good luck trying to find it! (At least at a reasonable price)
