Walk on the Wild Side sung by Rolf Harris

Lyrics originally sung by Lou Reed

Holly came from Miami, F.L.A. (thats Florida)
Hitch-hiked her way across the USA
Plucked her eyebrows on the way
Shaved her legs and then he was a she
She says, Heeey babe
Take a walk on the wild side
Said hey honey
Take a walk on the wild side

Candy came from out on the Island
In the backroom she was everybody's darlin'
But she never lost her head
When all around were loosing theirs,
She says, Hey babe
Take a walk on the wild side
Said, Hey babe
Take a walk on the wild side
And the girls go

Rolf
H0o ... ah haa ohh hha ahhh ha ha (repeated for ages)

Girls
Doo do do doo do do do

Little Joe never once gave it away
Everybody had to pay and pay
A hustle here and a hustle there
New York City's the place whe-he-re they say,
Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side
I said, Hey Joe
Take a walk on the wild side

Sugar Plum Fairy came and hit the streets
Lookin' for soul and a place to eat
Went to the Apollo
You should've seen em go man go
They said, Hey sugar Take a walk on the wild side
I said, Hey babe
Take a walk on the wild side
All right, huh

Jackie is just speeding away
Thought she was James Dean for a day
Then I guess she had to crash
Valium would have helped that bash
Said, Hey babe,
Take a walk on the wild side
I said, Hey honey,
Take a walk on the wild side
And the girls say,
(Rolf)
Doo do doo do didgeridoo do do do do
(Girls) 8x
Doo do doo do didgeridoo do do do do

  • What a masterpiece Rolf Harris wrote, this is far superior to Lou Reed's cover. Apparently this is based of Rolf's time at the factory.

  • @Rikkyhardo haha

  • there was a version of this song which was a rap or hip hop. it was made some time in the 90's and the lyrics metioned something about kids playing on the streets and gangs shooting each other. does any one remember this version and wha sang it?

  • thanks

  • kirstie alley sent me here :)
