@usaf6872 He sure is. I've always thought the Bay Area is one of the most beautiful metro areas in the world, if not the most beautiful (though Seattle has always occupied a special place in my heart). It really has everything. It's not devoid of issues, of course, but it really couldn't be more picturesque. And yes, people who live there are really lucky! I wish I did, too, but it's kind of expensive and it ain't getting any cheaper any time soon ;)

@AlvinHDavernport - Thanks much for the defense AHD, and you are right on. However, I didn't take offense. I'm from Wisconsin & made a first trip to visit my sister who lives in an Oakland suburb. It was a brief trip and she gave me a quick ride around the area. "LemkeR" sure is right in that there is a lot of fantastic stuff in the San Francisco Bay area and a person could spend a lifetime trying to check it all out. Folks who live in the area are blessed.

Lovely! You can buy a house in Vallejo very cheap and live there and take an hour-ride ferry into San Francisco. That's what I'm doing. Vallejo is not bad despite the bankruptcy. Their downtown farmers market is awesome! It's one of the best kept secret in the Bay Area.

You're so right, SF is expensive. That's shy some of my relatives moved up to Sacto where it's less expensive, right?
