@itsvsagar : The bacrground song in 10:33 is non other than Thyagaraja swamy kirthana, Tsalagallaladu set in Aarabhi ragam. It was recorded in 1942 and I am blessed to posses this vintage collection.

this mahaperiaval of semangudi sri srivasa iyer songs are very wounderful. i was collecting my memories today after hearing his songs once again. really a very very great karnatic musician. i think i am lucky thro this you tube.

My name is K.Muralidharan Unny-a humble student of Music.Semmangudi Swami is my maanasika Guru.If kerala musicians are singing it is only because of Semmangudi Swami and many other stwalwarts like C.S.Krishna Iyer,G.N.B,AND many other giants who served the Swaththirunal College.Let me also mention that there is no musician who has laksyam and lakshanam.His concerts are always lively because of the madhyama kalam pattern.It is my pride to say that i have learned so many keerthanas from the cd's.

@duraisubra Sir with all due respect.... you cannot even compare the brilliance of Semmangudi with someone like Michael Jackson. Carnatic music is all about technique and improvisation... something that SSI has revolutionized. SSI started his own syle of improvisation.
oh. and SSI wasnt a pedo either...

I think honestly he is good musician like anyother good musicans. practice makes him perfect I guess. music has no boundaries. I know many musicans on par with him or even greater. example Michael Jackson(you hear his voice and you will feel the blood in your rushing somewhere)

my great grandfather. I have tears in my eyes when i see that house in that video. Have been there and played there so many times. Now they have renovated and made it into apartment complex. He was always extremely sweet to me. He is such a great man yet not intimidating at all. Indha maari enga aathla perivaloda karma palan than engla ellarayum ippo soukyama vetchundrukku.
