@irishbear76 you're exactly right; it was the 1992 Awards with the Black Crowes leading off, and with Lenny Kravitz w/John Paul Jones, REM, Pearl Jam, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers closing the show. Best MTV awards show ever.

This is my alltime favorite MTV music awards, because I think the Crowes kicked it off and showed they are one of the greatest rock bands of all time!!!

Now, for a band that could and would kick ass everytime they were on stage i love how in this you can see they were REALLY pulling out all the stops.
coz i remember at that time you had G 'n' R Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Metalica R.E.M U2 all touring and claiming the top spot
but my boys from Atlan-a they were the only band i'd go and see 3 time in one summer!

This MTV awards was the absolute best ever. Rock ruled. It was also the last time. as far as I know, that it was broadcast in stereo.
