  • Ann Bogan is Amazing!!!!

  • Typo: Bobby Downs. Harvey Fuqua's assistant Vernon Bullock was very instrumental in their career.

  • NEW BIRTH was from Louisville, Kentucky, and, at this point, consisted of The Nite-Liters, the Mint Juleps and the New Sound. They would soon cut down to include Love, Peace & Happiness, which included Leslie Wilson ( the lead on "I Can Understand It" and "Wildflower"), his brother Melvin and former Marvelette Ann Bogan along with the Nite-Liters + Londee Loren, Alan Frey and Booby Downs. In any combination, they were one dynamic act!

  • WU TANG CLAN aside, this original music is from The New Birth, some Jersey-based brothers and sisters from back in the day. Thanks GStrongRaw, nice post. With a little research, we find that New Birth had some ties to a band called The Nite Liters, who also had some connects to Kool & The Gang. The primary thread here is Mr. Harvey "Moonglow" Fuqua, who discovered Marvin Gaye. The photo above shows New Birth and Nite Liters as an ensemble. Nite Liters' hit was called Kay-Gee. HipHops' roots.

  • Fresh classic upload, G ...like the Rock of Gibraltar...

  • x-clan sampled this three years before the wu. just sayin'.

  • @hvylobster man my son 9years old he love that wu-tang song...lol

  • THANK YOU !!!

  • dude on the middle left looks like "sexual chocolate" from coming to america...LOL I love New Birth!!! Fav group from the 70's

  • Great lead from the incomparable Ann Bogan (formerly of The Marvelettes) of the New Birth sub-group Love, Peace & Happiness. Also leads on "I Don't Want To Wrong" with L.P & H and "I'm Gonna Hold On Long As I Can" and "Everybody Knows (But You)"with The Marvelettes.
