Eiffel Tower 120 Anniversary Lightshow 2009

October 22,2009. Paris. I was driving home from the Hogan party where Dennis Hopper was signing his new book. I live near Trocadero which overlooks the Eiffel Tower. As I was driving around that huge "rond point" I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the Eiffel Tower was not looking the same as usual. My faithful neighbor who never fails to make me smile whenever I drive by her had another allure. She was ready to PARTY! That's when I remembered that at 9pm was the first lightshow to celebrate her 120th birthday! I quickly stopped my car, parked it illegally in a bus stop and grabbed my Canon Ixus digital camera that was still in my pocket. I was so lucky because I arrived just as the light show was about to begin. There were so many people! Everyone was so excited. I had so much fun and I was in AWE! Actually the whole time I was filming, I was on my iphone with my best friend who couldn't see the show. I was describing every detail to her. That is why I cut all that bla bla out and added great music and I edited the show on Final Cut so hopefully you will feel some of the emotion that I felt that night! I sped up the show in certain parts but I didn't cut anything. So what you see is exactly the same as the real thing. But this is more fun because in this video the Eiffel Tower seems to dance to the music... music by Usual Masters "Nocturne in Paris" and Grace Jones "La Vie en Rose". Happy 120th anniversary!
