As a Phd student I have done exhaustive research in Christology. And I to don't have the time to look at every view. In Col. 3:18 The Apostle Paul says, He [Jesus] is also head of the body, the church. I know the Roman Catholic position on the head of the church is the pope. But the Scriptures do not support that RCC doctrine. The key issue in our debate is hermeneutics (your method of interpreting the Scriptures) I try to consistently interpret from a literal historical, and grammatical POV

The Catholic Church emphatically does not hold that the Pope is the head of the Church! Christ is the Head of his mystical body. The Pope is Christ's Vicar or representative on earth.

Isn't the viral video's title misleading? He says he loves Jesus, and but in the same breathe speaks of hate toward the church.

. Even though what he says relates to one verse he is completely avoiding the context from witch it came and a multitude of many others. Examples: Romans ch6 ch7 and ch8. Ephesians ch2. The hole book of John. These are a major few but there are muliple others..

Okay one why do you have to point out that he has on a leather jacket? What does that have to do with anything? Two you're missing the point. If any actually read why he wrote this poem you would seen that he is trying to point out the differences in Jesus and FALSE religion and there is such a thing we see it everyday. People are only hearing what they want to from this and not hearing what is actually being said.

You and the father are making a big assumption in what he means by religion. I'd almost guarantee you that he loves the Church, be it catholics, protestants, orthodox or anyone else who has handed the lordship of their life over to Jesus. His definition of religion is not the Church, but rather any mentality that states that if you fall you are condemned or that if you are righteous that it is of your own power. The results of this mentality is either despair or pride.

So? I never said they were led by their carnal minds. That does not contradict the fact that God gave them authority to teach in the bible, nor that scripture tells us to listen to them for teachings.

Believers were led by the spirit. Not by a carnal mind. Luke 24:49 points it out that they were not to leave the city until the spirit had descended upon them. The holy-spirit would enable them to act as witnesses throughout Jerusalem and the whole world (Acts 1:8).
So no, it has never been about me, it has always been by the holy-spirit that believers can share the good news. It is precisely that a message of salvation isn't centered on what we do but what Christ has already done.
