They will pretty much knock out most hair algaes in a few days. I have some maroon cyan algae in my tank that they do not touch though. Snails are supposedly very hard to ship, but I have yet to encounter any problems. Hope it helps!

I got a problem with my turbo snails that is opposite with most of you guys. My turbo snails work very hard, rather too hard. They started to feed on my coralline algae which is the one that I don't want them to clean. How do I make them to stop eating my beneficial algae? thanks in advance

@viethluu ~I haven't heard of them eating coraline. Are they mexican turbo or which kind are they? The ones in my tank never ate that and I only bought a few mexican turbos to clean the whole tank. Do you have a sea urchin or even some starfish (hitchikers) eat the coraline if you have just noticed it missing.

i love turbo snails too, but they poop a lot! how do you get rid of the poop?

The snail poop works, roughly, like the fish poop does to feed the coral. It is pretty nasty though watching a bunch of pellets shoot out of the snail shell. They aren't much for taking on a walk though =P
