It doesn't really bother me what happens to the earth. What happens will happen. I do find it amusing though, watching people act as though they can escape a waterfall while floating ever closer with their hands tied behind their backs, so to speak.
You are NOT carbon neutral. All the energy that goes to power your home... All the gas burned in your "efficient" cars release carbon. The plastics and other materials that are used in all the products you buy.. +more carbon to produce. You are FAR from carbon neutral. You probably cause or subsidize more carbon pollution than full villages of people in third world countries.
Research that takes 10, 20+ years is not going to help if Global warming is as big a problem as people are saying it is.
No, we can tax more for gas and use the results for research, we can stop undermining the treaties. I was happy about the new 35 some mpg gas standard (because it was FINALLY some motion, damn bushbaby!) but also totally disgusted. My OLD 1986 Toyota Corolla got 36 mpg for years - I measured it! My hybrid generally does 45 mpg and even up to 60 mpg. We have the technologies. Bush has no will, that's the problem. Slice the problem into many parts and it is solvable. I am carbon neutral.
The white house can not make progress unless they were to basically say "Fuck you, America.. we're going to destroy all your cars, ravage your factories, cut power to your homes" etc.
The government is not god. The government does not own this planet and does not have ultimate control over it. There is nothing the US or any other government can do to stop global warming if it is in fact manmade.
interesting! Good Job!

I agree, I may not have computed everything.
I got a gift of the remainder - see
carbonfund. It's better than not doing it but
we need more people doing it. You think we should just let go of Florida and the coastal cities? The poor will suffer the most.

apparently we are at the tipping point NOW
so vote for those who actually will make progress. (Hint: the current party in the US government's white house is blocking progress.)
