  • Where has great music like this gone to? Such powerful, meaningful words, sung by, equally, powerful singers. Women like the Wilson sisters, Belinda Carlisle, Bonnie Tyler, Debbie Harry, Linda R., Dusty Springfield, and others from that generation really rocked. Live too. No Britney Spears or Ashley Simpson lip-sync, either. Paying a couple of hundred dollars to watch a person lip-sink for 2 hours, give me a break...

  • How many couples has this song brought together? How many lives has it changed, or led to? This song elicits emotion, romance, a longing for love, and a sense of love's greatness. What an impact this song has made; it has changed the world.

  • @HJPhil yes totally agree...80s were the best...music,tv,all of it was great...what has happened?

  • @suzysoundz -- I belive the pianist is Rory Dodd (which is who sang with Bonnie on this song. However I cannot find solid proof of this.

    Via Wikipedia -

Rory Dodd (b. Port Dover, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian rock vocalist who has performed many songs written by Jim Steinman. He is probably best known for singing the "Turn around, bright eyes" lyrics on Bonnie Tyler's version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart."

  • Does anyone know who the pianist is on this video?

  • Cheezus Cripes. I was in junior high when this song came out. I need to call my sister.

  • I'm just 23 and I love this song.

  • i remember being 6 years old and this song played at a school basket ball game where i used to go to elementary and ive always wondered where i could find this song and i saw a commercial and i figured it out about 2 hours ago 12 years later!

  • esta musica é veramente bela

  • This is one of those great songs that defines what the 80's were. Sometimes, don't you wish we could go back?

  • @tauyupa I think very few bands play actual music, during a film clip due to special effects, change of scenes etc. It would be impossible to get the sync. spot on and wouldn't fit at all hence why they mime.
