How and why did a man so rich, so accomplished and so visible become so reclusive, phobic and fragile? Recent medical discoveries may explain the bizarre billionaire.
@lombard605 : He was 66 years old in 1972 and had an extreme addiction to opiates which he took in monumental dosages. His voice sounds strange because he was highly "medicated." It's not even his fault. After his most severe plain crash where everyone thought he would die, breaking nearly every bone in his body, the hospital injected him all over his body several times daily with pure liquid morphine to help with the pain. This is what turned Mr. Hughes into a drug addict.
I was glad to find "The Secret History: Howard Hughes, Bizarre Billionaire," - 5. He was a brilliant and gravely misunderstood/misdiagnosed man who contributed so much. Yes, he had money, but he didn't 'care' about money really - he was just glad to be able to use it to fulfill his visions & dreams; aviation, movies, writing and directing, and so forth. The way he passed, 6 ft 2 inches tall & weighting a mere 92 lbs is unimaginable. My heart goes out to Mr. Hughes.
@NillerTheKing1 I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do half that stuff if he hadn't crashed in 1946. Anyone can get this way if they let themselves go and don't have to worry about money.
Hughes was a great man, no question. The early 20th century was truly an age for entrepreneurs and innovative people, just as the 21st century is an age for innovation in taking civilization backwards.
I don't know what to say about the secret Mormon Danite conspiracy stuff though. I kinda feel left out. Sucks being a non-Danite CIA Mormon out of the loop. I want a piece of the take.
@StudentEntrepreneur the greatest people that walked this planet were white...marie curie, chopin, maradona, isaac newton, mozart, churchill, beethoven, caesar, da vinci, napoleon, michelangelo, einstein, vincent van gogh, steve jobs, darwin, rembrandt, i mean to say, wich black people contributed something to us? oprah? nelson mandela? who spend one third of his life in prison, kofi annan?

@Gamebox27 Yeah, but that's the problem today. No one let themself free.
It's all about money and success, which drive people crazy.
Who wants to be a millionaire?
I just want to be a human.
