Witnessing works, because whatever is witnessed about, an example can be demonstrated of. Not so for the tooth-fairy, for unicorns, for Santa ... and not for god(s).
People giving witness of non-demonstrable entities are usually referred to as 'having an illusion'.
@meer8 Yes, but you really need to stretch the interpretations of the Bible to ridiculousness to make them seem compatible with the cosmos. Nothing that is written in a book can contain the secrets of billions of light-years. If the universe could laugh, I think it would laugh at our whole tiny existence, including the even tinier construct of religion.
And since the undefinable "God" is supposed to be beyond time and space - how to tell the difference between "God" and something non-existent?
@aboyborninjune hmmm i disagree. One can be Christian and seek the understandings of reality and the cosmos. I love to learn about things like that. As a matter of fact, the brilliance of God is illustrated in these things.
If you take for granted the existence of God and follow a religion related to it, you are forever thinking inside a box the size of an atom.
I, on the other hand, think inside a box, more the size of a solar system. Understand the nature of reality and the cosmos first, before you chain yourself to a religion. When you start to understand it, religions become meaningless.
So he's a self-indulgent twat, then? Yeah, that's a guy you wanna work for...
"you are determined to not believe"
I am determined to believe in TRUTH. I seek that truth through evidence and reason. Around the time of my 20th birthday, I realized I saw no actual evidence for God, and thus had no logical reason to believe in him.
Rest assured, if such evidence were to present itself, I would be more than happy to aknowledge it. So far: no such luck.
@SeedsOfHatred With your stance, you are already in judgment of God. I don't need to prove anything to anyone, I just need to tell the one that is concerned about hell to repent and believe, that is your only responsibility. I can't convince you because you are determined to not believe. God hardens hearts and softens hearts all for His own glory. Because He is God, He is God, therefore, does as He pleases....amazing.......:)

A bronze age book does not contain the secrets of the universe, and Jesus does not stand a chance against billions of lightyears.

@xmericalx That sounds like a very respectable attribute. Though I can't help but wonder why he would want to "harden" a heart.
Now, having said that, we've just got to prove (or at least provide legitimate evidence for) his existence and we'll be good to go.
