An update on my attempts to get a nice looking day / night cycle in Unity. This version uses the dynamic sky by pixelstudio with a few minor changes and an added time progression script.

  • Where can I get cloud prefabs ? thanks

  • @MinecraftSkill As far as I know there are not any others except for the one that comes with the skydome. If I remember right the cloud prefab part isn't even actually used, it was just something the original author put in to use later but never used.

  • MAKE A TUTORIAL PLZ I DOWNLOADED AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT PLEASE !!

  • @MinecraftSkill Just drag the prefab into your scene hierarchy. You can resize the prefab to fit your scene, and then just set the variables in the viewer thing to fit your needs. It is just like adding any other packages to unity. If you don't know how to add packages, there are lots of tutorials for it on here. I'd post a link but you can't put links in comments.. :-/ If you still need help after looking around a bit, then send me message and I'll try to help you some more.

  • sun isnt moving? well i dont even have a sun :/ please help

  • My sun isnt moving, help please

  • Awesome cycle! :) And awesome music from awesome game... I never get bored to RDR

  • @TofuMovies I dragged the skydome prefab in my scene, but when I look around I see a big round blue round thing infront of my 1st person view, and I cant drag the sun, and it wont move =[

  • @ajwgeek i think (if im correct) your referencing to ambient light settings and if you still havnt sussed it out then go into Edit > RenderSettings and set the ambient colour light to black :) then when there is no light in the scene everything is pitch black
