Dolphin Swimming in Beer, Devon. October 2011

On hearing a dolphin had been spotted off Beer beach we decided to row out for a closer look. With no one around and only a little light left it seemed like a good idea to strip down to my boxers and dive in.

The next 40 minutes were astonishing. Truly special.

A couple of days on I found out that the Dolphin is called George and has been recorded as far as Ireland and France. What is more, I enjoyed this quote found on the BBC:

"George has already been reported to have hospitilised two adults, bitten several children, as well as pushing a young swimmer out to sea."

Good for you George, why not bite them! However, this couldn't have been further from my experience.
