I'm 41 & I come from a family of musicians. My dad got me into Mason Williams (composer of this amazing track). My dad started to teach me guitar at 6, & then piano at 11. I'm classically trained in music, & can play 15 instruments. Ironically I'm learning the violin right now. I too dropped out of music (15yr-17yr), & easily picked up where I left off. Like riding a bike, you never forget. I know your daughter will pick up the violin again...trust me, it's just a phase my friend!

I used to listen to this song as a child, I am 44 now, of course it wasn't Vanessa Mae, but her version sends chills from the top of my head down to the tip of my toes! She is absolutely FABULOUS! Thank you for your version of the song!! My daughter started playing the violin in Jr High, was so good she was picked up by the Austin Youth Symphony Ocherstra in only 4 mths after picking it up. She was so good, and her violin sits in the closet, it breaks my heart, I can just see her up on stage!
