  • How come there is no genetic link AT ALL to Israelites and Native Americans if they are descended from the same people? Also if the Book of Morman is THE WORD OF GOD why have you people had to correct it? Also if Joseph Smith found the tablets outside NEW YORK then WHY ARE THEY LOOKING IN MESO AMERICA? Faith is one thing stupidity is another.

  • @slopstar1

Yes, thanks for proving to us your own point. This comment is *really* stupid.

  • @slopstar1

There is, you are just ignoring it is all. Your ignorance is no proof of anything against the LDS themes, it is proof you obviously do't read enough.

  • DNA evidence proves that Amerindians are not related to any tribe of Israel. If they are then the Chinese and all East Asians are Israelites. This is surely not the case.

DNA is proof that Amerindians are Mongoloids.

DNA is the destroyer of Mormonism.

  • You are assuming that the entire tribes of Israel remained alone, pure blooded and non-mixed, which we KNOW is simply wrong headed. Can you PROVE there is such a thing as singular and isolated Israelite DNA?! Can ANYONE Show us samples of what it is?

  • But have you read it with a desire to know of its truth. Have you prayerfully read and studies it? Have you asked God whether or not it is true? I would suggest you take that route rather than search for proof.

  • Well I am happy for you that you have your answer. However, millons and I repeat millions have received the answer from God that it is true. Praise Jesus. I am one of them. I say to each his own. Happiness to you and I truly mean that.

  • Wow cezza your hypocrite, you probably would've been a jew in the time of Christ that wouldn't of believed the messiah because you didn't have any proof. haha

wow."But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a asign; and there shall no sign be given to it, "

    Matthew 12:39

and the asia land bridge theory is no longer the main accepted theory for the native americans so shove that in your juice box and suck it. take an anthropology class.

  • DNA research is much more advanced than you think. It doesn't matter if there has been admixture in the Indian populations--geneticists would still be able to detect contributions from the Middle East if those contributions were significant. One way to do this is by testing the Mitochondrial DNA or the Y chromosome DNA. If Indians came PRINCIPALLY from the Middle East, then a large percentage of this DNA would be similar to some present-day groups in the Middle East--but this is not the case.

  • We don't need pure DNA because DNA doesn;t dissapear from our bloodlines. It's always there, and DNA evidence confirms that the Americndians share now common ancestor with the people we call Jews, who your church accepts as having Israelite DNA in their veins. There is simply no connection between the Americndians and the Israelites prior to European colonialism.

As an atheist, I ask Mormons to prove Amerindians are Israelites via DNA. Why believe something there is no evidemnce for?

  • The Jaredites came from Asia, and they intermixed with the Nephites. Who is to say how many survived? And why do you assum e we know what Lamanite DNA is like? Is there a singular isolated DNA of Israelite DNA? Can you provide examples which we can compare and have been compared? Are you pretending that anciently there was NO interaction at all with anyone in Israel from the northern Asiatic places?

  • This argument is wrong. Mormon prophets (including Joseph Smith) have taught for decades that the PRINCIPAL ancestors of the American Indians are the Lamanites. They have even dedicated temples in South America to the surrounding "Lamanite" people. Geneticists have done sufficient DNA testing on Indian tribes throughout North, Central, and South America to conclusively rule out this claim.
