This past Monday, Indie Music Reviewer got a chance to check out the Australian Indie Music Award-nominated-band Wagons (http://www.wagonsmusic.com) and boy, did we have a GREAT time! Check out our video and then head to their website for the latest info and we'd suggest to purchase the track "Willie Nelson"!

Now, how can we start explaining this jaw-dropping performance in detail? Let's just say that Henry Wagons and his band lived up to their international acclaim and raving reviews with one of the best performances we have ever seen. Admittedly, we've never been to an "indie-country" show. We'd claim that we'll be reviewing more indie-country music shows, but it will be awfully tough to match the showmanship that Wagons left us remembering on Monday night.

Henry Wagons is the ultimate performer; By taking the time to address almost everyone in the crowd during their show at The Earl by asking "What is the best morning brunch in Atlanta?" and "What is your favorite number?" (yes, random question, but people were loving the game), it made the simple gesture that their performance goes beyond "just music." Their show creates a high-energy raucousness, yet homely vibe that draws you into their lyrics and performance. Several times throughout the night, Henry (lead singer, songwriter, guitar & minimal drums) left the stage to personally sing to the crowd with his full range baritone voice and leave his passionate lyrics stuck in the minds of the audience. With Henry in the crowd, the band continued to belt soulful harmonies and keep the music alive. The video can show you a little of what the show has to offer, but cannot compare to the live performance of Wagons.

With Wagons, the term "indie-country" encompasses almost all varieties of mainstream and off-beat country. Their sound ranges from the somewhat new term, "Australicana", to blues country, rockabilly, cowpunk, and even includes a song in the "country crunk" genre (check out the above video). From fast rockin' beats to slow ballad-like rythyms, Wagons variety of music and style changes really finishes off the final touches to their rehearsed and vibrant show. Our rating for Wagons: 5/5 stars; The best show we've seen all year. Continue winning new fans all over the world and tell the rhythm section to LAY OFF THE HOT SAUCE!

Favorite song of the night: Willie Nelson
Favorite "laid back" song of the night: Goodtown

*****Our apologies for not including Wagons guitar player, Richard Blaze in the video. We think he was hypnotized by The Earl's AMAZING food*****

Also, thanks again to Wagons for allowing us to sit down with you. You are all wonderful people and we were glad to have done the interview.

PS. Welcome on our newest interviewer to the IndieMusicReviewer.com staff: Brooke Spivey!
