@DisguiseDK what is even crazier my friend, is how fast time passes by :P
-
@OBSysteme Cool, I didn't even know I had top-rated comment here! :D It's been for 2 years, and you're the first one to comment. Crazy world, huh?
-
@DisguiseDK it's not even a sample when you "sample the entire song".

@NmGab but yeah the justice system is crap... imagine a system where the law is not the only thing that count, the kind of lawyer you can afford to payfor yourself and who you are (O.J. Simpson comes to mind), can actually influence the outcome.
also, think of all the people that get wronged but du nothing because they can't afford money and time to defend themselves.... it should not be so that justice is denied simply because it is to difficult to actually go through it.
-
@NmGab These demo-sceners, that make free music, they should always release their stuff on netlabels where a "creative commons copyright" stamp is clearly associated with the release of the free music. It might be that Jane is from the true oldschool? back when you would not think twice about uploading your computer demoscene music directly to a BBS or a web site, spreading it to the four winds without any afterthought.
-
@OBSysteme This is what I thought too. But just look at this case... Man, this kind of justice is just a big heap of crap.
-
So much about legal processes and justice at the court. As everywhere, there the money has won...
Only a retarded fool wouldn't notice the how unlikely similar the 2 songs are. Man, isn't there a lawyer or a judge to see this? :(
-
@wtkplt Wow, you are grossly miss-informed.
The song is a full song programmed on an 8bit computer and is entirely original composed material, the whole melody stolen (copy-pasted, no modifications) by Timbalame.
-
@JakeVideoStation hmmm, I think you can still defend yourself against this even if he did not slap a copyright on it? You only have to challenge in court and demonstrate-proove "prior art". Prove that you composed this.
That's why you should always keep you junk reccording, old infinished draft program files, source samples, source code. If you can show all this and the copy cat can't, you are in a good position to demonstrate prior art.

@wtkplt Hmmm yes a Commodore 64 can play recordings from Casio keyboards yes yes...
yeah, but usually you pay for your samples. timbaland didn't

If you actually listen to Timbaland's music there's a very high possibility that you're a retard. Congrats.
